What causes an allergy?
Allergy symptoms are common with various medical conditions, including Asthma, different types of allergies (hay fever and dustmites are most common), and Atopic Dermatitis, better known as Eczema.
Many people who suffer from dustmite allergies experience symptoms without even knowing the source of the issue. Find out about how Dustroy can help you to eliminate all unpleasant symptoms of dust mite allergies.

Dust mites feed on hair and skin that we and our pets shed. Whilst dust mites clean up the particles we leave behind, their faeces contain proteins.
This protein can trigger allergies when areas of the home are disturbed, and the faeces are distributed into the air, settling onto our skin. Our body sees this protein as an invader and produces histamines to reject the attack. When people, commonly with a family history of allergy, are repeatedly exposed to house dust mite droppings or faeces, they can develop a specific sensitivity. This sensitivity can lead to allergy symptoms.
If your allergy symptoms are often more apparent in the morning as you wake or lie down to sleep, this is a key sign that dust mites are the trigger for your allergy symptoms.
Dustmites are microscopic arachnids, typically measuring 420 micrometres in length and 250 to 320 micrometres in width. They live and breed in our homes and are impossible to remove permanently.
Dustmites survive in all climates, all year round, but thrive in an indoor environment with humidity. Because of this, you can commonly find dustmites in bedding (especially pillows) where they can find warmth from a human’s breathing and perspiration..
They also survive well in mattresses, carpets, furniture, cushions, draperies, soft toys, mattresses, bedding and pillows with figures of around 188 animals/g dust. They reproduce all year happily, and any seasonal change in the dustmite population would be hard to detect.

Dustroy changes the shape of the dustmite faeces so that the body no longer recognises it, offering effective and rapid relief to sufferers. As a result, they are no longer recognised by the body’s immune system, and they will not bond with the antibodies sent to destroy them. The solution is not to kill the dustmites but to neutralise the effect they have on sufferers.
Additionally, Dustroy has a sanitising effect which limits the growth of mould and mildew around the home.

Dustroy is extremely easy to use. It is safe, efficient and can start working immediately. Follow these simple steps to protect you and your family from allergies.
Prepare your room
Choose an area such as your bedroom, vacuum the mattress and other non-washable bedding. Wash all sheets, pillows, cases, and soft furnishings, a wash of up to 60 degrees is preferable. Dust everywhere with a damp cloth.
Treat the area
Lightly spray all the prepared areas with Dustroy, dusting surfaces with a wet cloth. Avoid spraying hard or non-absorbent surfaces since they do not harbour dustmites. Now, just wait 30 minutes for the solution to dry.
On-going treatments
Regular treatments are an essential part of managing your allergy symptoms. It is important to follow a routine of treatments, so our bottles remain effective up to 8 weeks and cover up to 20.sq.mts (based on a 500ml bottle).
Follow-up treatment can be achieved in many ways:
- Repeat steps from the first application, preparing the area through vacuuming and washing of linen.
- Lightly spray affected areas and allow them to dry.
- Respray linen after washing, such as when washing is drying on a clothesline.

Your allergy may provoke one or several different symptoms. Depending on the type of condition you have, you may experience the benefits of Dustroy immediately or within a number of days.
If symptoms are respiratory
You will notice an immediate reduction in your symptoms when you go to bed and when you get up in the morning. There will be a reduction in your itching, no more sore throat or itchy runny eyes, coughing or sneezing.
Skin rashes or other forms of eczema
You will notice a reduction in symptoms a few days after treatment. This will give your body time to heal from the existing damage caused to your skin. Any itching symptoms may be reduced immediately.
Asthma
The Asthma Foundation has estimated that the dustmite allergen triggers up to 40% of all asthma attacks. Even if you are unaware that you have a dust mite allergy, it may well trigger your asthma.
Dustroy is NOT a cure for asthma. Effects from Dustroy will be dependent on the severity, other triggers and other medications you take for asthma. However, 40% of those who experience symptoms related to a dust mite allergy will reduce symptoms.
No change in symptoms
If there is no change in your allergy symptoms after a reasonable time, you either do not have a dust mite allergy, or there are other complicating factors or allergies involved.
